I started decorating envelopes sometime around 1992. I think it began after taking some classes at the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. While I was on active duty from 1992 to 1996, I occasionally sent artistic envelopes from Germany to the United States. Up until 2003, I only decorated envelopes once in a while. During the summer of 2003, I started doing envelopes and sending them to myself. The cancellation postmarks and anything else else that happened to the envelope while enroute became a part of the art. After the summer of 2003, I got deployed to Iraq and had to put a halt to the creative envelopes. However, I did create a few while I was in Baghdad.

I have not really done a whole lot of mail art in the last few years. Due to my full-time job and some other activities, I have not had much time to finish a lot of the mail art that I have started. I used to have an address listed here so others can experiment with mail art and send their creations to me. Since I have not been creating much mail art to send back to those people, I have taken down the address and closed the post office box where I used to receive the mail art. Someday, I will try to get back into the mail art, however, I will probably soon remove this gallery from the site and only post the mail art to an outside blog.
